20th meeting

The meeting was hosted by the Netherlands Institute of Human Rights (SIM) at premises of the University of Utrecht. It was opened by Svend B. Christensen of the International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims, which is the Secretariat of the European Co-ordination Committee.

The meeting discussed reports on activities of micro-networks (refugees, torture, children), a report on the activities of the HURIDOCS network (regional networks, tool development, training, Task Forces) and a report on the North-American regional network CUSHRID Net. A debate was held on Human Rights Documentation in Central and Eastern Europe. The meeting also talked about the HURIDOCS list of index terms and the organisation of the ECCHRD meetings. An interesting discussion was held on the use of Internet by human rights organisations. During the market place, various participants gave demonstrations of a number of their projects.
