2018 Meeting in Warsaw, Poland

We are happy to invite you to save 17 and 18 May 2018 for the 39th meeting of the European Coordination Committee on Human Rights Documentation (ECCHRD). We are looking forward to welcoming you in Warsaw, Poland, at the OSCE’s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights.

We kindly invite you to confirm your interest in attending this year’s edition by the deadline of 6 April, registering here: https://goo.gl/NjEkRs.

Participants can register on a first-come, first-serve basis. A confirmation email will be sent by 6 April, along with a draft agenda and more details about the meeting.

We would like to remind you that all travel costs must be covered by individual participants.

Call for presentations

We invite all interested participants to submit proposals for presentations. Please provide the relevant information in the registration form specified above also by 6 April.

We would like to focus our conversations around a few themes this year, although other topics are always welcomed:

  • The challenges of documenting and monitoring human rights in the current environment: notably geographical and legal constraints, and challenges to documenting illegal activities, such as hate crimes or torture;
  • Human rights documentation, IT resources and intellectual property: licensing of software, server location and legal implications, as well as the use of open licenses for content.
  • Data protection: what can human rights documentation centres do to protect the large amounts of data they collect?
